Blue Ridge Honor Flight (BRHF) is a non-profit organization based out of Asheville with the mission to fly local WWII, Korean War, and Vietnam War combat and era veterans to Washington D.C. for the day to see the memorials and changing of the guard to honor their service and sacrifice to our country.

While in Washington D.C. the veterans visit the WWII Memorial - where they partake in a special ceremony, Korean War Memorial, and Vietnam War Memorial. Veterans also visit Arlington National Cemetery to view the Changing of the Guard.

BRHF run two flights per year, one in spring and one in fall. Each flight contains approximately 90 veterans and 80-90 support and medical staff. We charter an Allegiant Airbus 320 out of the Asheville Airport early in the morning and spend all day in DC. Upon return to the Asheville Airport in the evening, several hundreds of people from the community await our arrival to welcome the veteran’s home.

The approximate cost per flight is $120,000. There is no cost to the veterans to participate in the flight. We rely on guardian fees, volunteers, personal donations, and corporate sponsorships to fund each flight.
